Privacy should not be hidden behind a settings wall. If users have to hunt for it, it does not exist. Default choices are the real product, because that is where most people stay.
Designing privacy by default means collecting less, asking later, and explaining why. It also means giving people clear off ramps when they say no. You can still build a strong product without tracking every detail, and the trust you gain often matters more than the metrics you lose.
When privacy is the default, the product feels cleaner. There are fewer pop ups, fewer permissions, and fewer surprises. That calmness is a competitive advantage.
